Amaris Consulting is supporting a leading industrial innovation team in building data solutions that power real‑world outcomes — from predictive maintenance of critical systems to optimizing global operations. We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our client’s internal consultancy team as part of the VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) program.

In this role, you’ll design and develop scalable, code-based ETL pipelines using Core Java
, enabling data scientists and analysts to deliver high‑impact insights across the organization. This is not a tool‑driven ETL role — your Java coding skills will be at the heart of the data infrastructure.

The position is a hybrid role, based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands
.

• Design, develop, and maintain custom ETL pipelines using Core Java — no ETL tools, only coding.
• Implement efficient data transformation and loading processes for structured and semi‑structured data.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance for speed and reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to ensure data pipelines support analytics and reporting needs.
• Work with large‑scale, often unstructured industrial datasets (e.g., sensor data from equipment).
• Apply software engineering best practices:
  Git, CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.

• 3+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
• Strong Core Java skills
  : collections, multithreading, JVM concepts, performance tuning.
• Advanced SQL proficiency
  : complex joins, window functions, CTEs, query optimization.
• Experience with ETL pipeline development via coding
  , not just ETL tools.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and relational databases (e.g., Postgre
  
  SQL, Oracle).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
