Senior Materials Planner – Teledyne Technologies

Purpose:

The Senior Materials Planner operates within the Supply Chain group, supporting delivery reliability and product planning. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the role coordinates the establishment and control of the production plan, manages the flow of goods, and sets up and maintains logistical master-data in the ERP system.

• Actively participate in MPS meetings to assess forecast attainability.
• Confirm sales orders based on available capacity and material availability.
• Advise on material proposals using MRP/MPS judgement, considering sales data, supply risk, purchase agreements, machine and manpower availability, capacity constraints, yield, and stock positions.
• Draft short‑term and mid‑term production plans aligned with rolling forecasts, in cooperation with the Logistics Manager, Product Planner, and Production Manager.

• Maintain contact with strategic suppliers/sub‑contractors regarding packaging, order handling, transport, and delivery times.
• Evaluate supplier performance at least annually through a supplier rating procedure, aiming to improve performance.
• Create and maintain logistic supplier agreements.
• Determine key performance indicators with the Supply Chain Manager and ensure adequate reporting.
• Convert annual business goals and targets into department projects and actions, reporting progress via KPI indicators.
• Coordinate subcontracting of modules and finished goods with external plants.

• Ensure stock levels remain at targeted levels and minimize obsolescence.
• Coordinate the annual inventory count.
• Engage in life‑cycle management of BOM materials, managing last‑time buys and end‑of‑life components.
• Manage cost price structures as set up within TDBV.
• Own and update logistical item master data in the ERP system.
• Set prioritization for material deliveries and keep internal/external stakeholders informed.

• Ensure all shipments and information are received and that personnel act according to Teledyne’s compliance policy.
• Serve as backup import and export administrator for Teledyne DALSA BV.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures compliant with import and export regulations.
• Provide advice and guidance to employees on trade compliance requirements.
• Review custom product contracts for import/export regulatory requirements.
• Interpret customs matters within Dutch/EU and foreign regulations and keep up with regulatory changes.
• Identify potential import/export compliance risks, evaluate, investigate, and mitigate them.
• Coordinate all customs import/export activity, liaising with freight forwarders and customs brokers regarding licenses and documentation.
• Maintain standard product classification and record‑keeping; serve as point of contact for audits and inquiries.

• Higher professional logistics training, Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent communication skills; fluent in English and Dutch.
• Proficient with ERP systems and strong computer skills.
• Hands‑on mentality, accurate, and punctual.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills for data collection, structuring, analysis, and communication.
• Ten to twelve years experience in a similar function.
• Full knowledge of HTS classification principles, GATT, and trade organization regulations.
• Experience in developing and implementing trade compliance procedures.
• Understanding of international legal regulations; familiarity with NAFTA, CETA, Trade Preference Programs, and Free Trade Agreements is a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO
  9001 and ISO
  14385 quality systems.
