Distribution Team Leader / Material Coordinator 4 (MC4) - Eindhoven, Netherlands

Fixed term contract for 12 months

Onsite role, shift basis, Sunday through Friday - average 40 hours per week.

Your Role

As Material Coordinator 4 (Team Leader) here at Illumina in Eindhoven, you will play a pivotal role in leading our warehouse operations and ensuring smooth, safe, and high‑quality execution across daily activities.

You will provide hands‑on leadership on the warehouse floor, guiding a team of operators and partnering closely with cross‑functional colleagues to maintain an exceptional operational environment.

This is a visible and impactful role where your focus on people, performance, and continuous improvement will directly support our mission of improving human health. You will be the first point of contact for your team during shift operations and will help maintain a strong culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability.

Why You

You will bring proven experience in leading teams within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or other operational environments, ideally within shift‑based work.

You will have strong people leadership skills, the ability to coach and motivate frontline teams, and a natural inclination to lead confidently in fast‑paced, hands‑on settings.

Clear and effective communication in English will come easily to you, and you will be comfortable using KPIs and operational data to drive decisions.

Your high sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability will ensure that you act with the customer in mind, one of our core Illumina values, and you will thrive in an environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are essential.

Experience with GDP/GMP, regulated environments, or material movement processes is beneficial but not required.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead and coach a team of warehouse operators to deliver safe, accurate, and compliant operational execution
  • Act as the primary point of contact on the warehouse floor during shifts, ensuring daily tasks are effectively prioritised and completed
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, teamwork, and open communication, supporting the Illumina value of Win Together
  • Ensure operational activities meet internal and external customer expectations by reinforcing quality, accuracy, and service excellence
  • Promote high standards of safety, quality, and compliance, including adherence to SOPs and GDP/GMP requirements
  • Use KPIs, data, and operational metrics to monitor performance, identify issues, and drive improvements
  • Respond proactively to risks or escalations, taking ownership of corrective actions and maintaining accountability within the team
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps, encouraging problem‑solving, and implementing value‑adding changes
