Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer - CAM - NC will provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero‑defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.
Job Responsibilities- Develop, revise, or proof programs for complex math‑modeled and computer‑generated parts surfacing programs to ensure products meet specifications.
- Analyze engineering drawings, operations sheets, blueprints, process requirements and parts complexity to determine feasibility of performing required functions for each part program.
- Define part geometry from various sources utilizing CAD or automated program tools to manufacture components on NC machine tools.
- Develop a manufacturing package which includes tool orders, tool set‑up sheets, cutting tool descriptions, NC operations sheets, operator instructions and program manuscript.
- Exemplify a safety‑first mindset and ensure compliance with GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
- Responsible for development of technical solutions to complex problems within GKN Aerospace, customers and suppliers.
- Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production.
- Utilize root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce or eliminate non‑conformances.
- Maintain positive team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co‑workers.
- Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
- Develop tooling solutions to complex problems through concept to production, designing tooling for high degree of process capability using the GKN standard Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) tool suite.
- Accountable for tool fabrication quotes, tooling input for new product quotes, tooling configuration changes involving cost estimation, schedule coordination, and implementation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent, 5+ years of tool design experience.
- 3+ Years of CNC Programming experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
- 1+ year of using NX, Catia or Solidworks CAD/CAM software.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Reliable and satisfactory attendance is essential.
- GKN experience.
- CNC Lathe programming.
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Machining and assembly experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO
9000, AS9100, or D1-9000. - Increasing ability to provide technical input at all levels.
- Idea identification and solution orientation.
- Drive to complete job on time and continually search for better ways.
- Analytical logic with systematic approach to resolution.
- Ability to apply complex and non‑routine analysis.

The compensation range for this position is between $43.91 - $55.00 per hour.
