Production Controller - 1st Shift - Repair Solutions

Job Summary

The Production Controller is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence through material flow across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Team Leaders direction. The role involves understanding operational flow and scheduling systems to perform a variety of functions including direct involvement in the material distribution and transportation flow of goods that support the Company’s operations. The Controller will serve in multiple functions that support the logistical movement of goods.

• Work with various departments to prioritize work orders and set‑up tasks in an assigned production cell. Assist supervision and workforce in the resolution of work order or shop supply discrepancies, problems and/or concerns.
• Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
• Exemplify a safety‑first mind‑set and ensure that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied so that the assigned areas are a model of a world‑class healthy and safe working environment.
• Drive the disciplined and rigorous maintenance behind the Lean Operating Model (LOM) pull system across the assigned areas.
• Cooperate with the Team Leader to ensure the best production control outcomes for the entire area.
• Ensure the satisfactory and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Ensure that all blades needed for the production process are available on time between work centres per the pull system.
• Coordinate with management and the production control team members to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively.
• Review production reports to identify any potential problems with the process and communicate with management.
• Train new members of staff in production processes and the pull system.
• Implement improvements to production methods/pull system to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the logistical move process.
• Ensure the company’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and protecting the environment through establishing and supporting company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
• Fully comply with the GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government.
• Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
• Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 1–3+ years of manufacturing or warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/MRP experience
• Basic computer and math skills
• Practitioner level for Internal Flow & Warehousing
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment
• Fluent (speaking and reading) in the English language

The compensation range for this position is between $20.00‑$23.00 per hour.
