MainDuties & Responsibilities
This occupation requires skill and performance in all phases of CNC lathe work. Includes operating, setting and editing programs. This occupation includes lifting, bending, and considerable time standing.
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience. Able to set up and machine close tolerance aerospace parts and tooling on all types of CNC machines. Must also have a strong manual machining background.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, Engineering instructions and traveler instructions.
- Ability to perform mathematical tasks in computing angular and linear dimensions in fabrication of parts.
- Ability to work with others and follow instructions of shop supervisors.
- Knowledge to troubleshoot machining problems.
- Knowledge of material types.
- Holding close tolerance and producing quality work.
- Must have own measuring tools and locking box.
- Other duties as needed
On-Site:
This role is required to be on-site 4days at the EL Cajon, CA location.
- Machine parts to tolerance and dimensions required by engineering drawings, both in metric and inch format.
- Knowledge of trigonometry.
How to apply
a right triangle in the measurement of parts, both setting up and calculating from engineering drawings for parts measurements. - Able to set up and operate CNC lathes and Mills. Required to edit programs and to isolate and make minor program changes if problems arise.
- Able to isolate and identify a machining problem as it arises and take the proper action to solve it, such as insert wear, tool breakage, etc.
- Knowing machine feeds and speeds for the different types of materials.
- Operate machinery and select the proper tooling, which may include hand-grinding tools, to achieve the specified blueprint requirements.
- Minimum tool requirements: dial calipers, outside micrometers, dial indicator, dial indicator magnetic base, edge finder, 6” flexible scale, combination square, radius gauges, screwdriver set, pliers, 10” adjustable wrench.
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00 per hour.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
