Overview

Under direction, provides psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic services; advises on the prevention, research, and medical aspects of other mental health program activities and performs other work as required.

Education and Experience

Sufficient education and experience to become licensed as a practicing psychiatrist in the State of California.

Licenses and Other Requirements

Possession of a valid State of California Medical License (physician and surgeon) with evidence of completing an approved residency program in psychiatry; possession of a valid Drug Enforcement Administration Registration Certificate.

Valid California Driver’s License.

A valid driver’s license may be required at the time of appointment, and employees may be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC.

Pre-employment requirements may include drug testing, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
