MMI Industrial & Steel is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Facilities Maintenance & Improvement Specialist. This Full‑Time role offers a fantastic opportunity for those looking to establish or advance their career in the industrial and steel manufacturing sector. This position, crucial for our day‑to‑day operations, is exclusively in‑office with no option for remote work. As a Facilities Maintenance & Improvement Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our facilities to support high‑level production outputs and workforce safety.

• Manage and organize inventory, tools, and consumables to ensure that all items are readily available as needed.
• Perform general facility cleanup and housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness in the shop, yard, and common areas, promoting a safe work environment.
• Assist with basic electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting, helping prevent and resolve power issues that could impede production processes.
• Support minor mechanical and hydraulic repairs on shop equipment to prevent delays in manufacturing and other operational processes.
• Help maintain steel processing machinery, such as saws, drills, and plasma cutters, ensuring equipment is in good working condition to perform necessary tasks.
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to guarantee the readiness of all tools and machines for use when needed.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace incidents and promote ongoing safety awareness and compliance.

• 1–2 years of experience in a steel shop, industrial, or maintenance environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety practices, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Experience in hydraulic systems and mechanical repairs, demonstrating capability to support routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Familiarity with specific steel processing equipment, such as Voortman machines, saws, drills, and plasma cutters, is an advantage.
• Physically able to lift, move, and work in various roles and environments within the shop or yard, requiring bending, squatting, kneeling, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs in any direction.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relay information precisely and concisely.
• Able to perform tasks quickly and to completion, ensuring all work is finished to the highest standard without unnecessary delay.
• Ability to work safely around equipment and coworkers, following all safety protocols and contributing to a safe working environment.
• Adherence to company core values, including integrity, teamwork, and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn new skills, with a keen interest in professional growth within the maintenance domain.
