The Corporate, Retail Fuel Construction Project Manager III role blends functional management with assistant program management. Responsibilities include direct project oversight and support for other construction project managers, as well as assistance to the senior construction manager in prototype design, process, and change management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Manage the budget, schedule, and quality assurance throughout the construction activities of Murphy USA’s (MUSA) retail fueling stations.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver store development projects to operations efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Retail Development Project Manager during the initial due diligence process to conduct site investigations, prepare conceptual layouts, and review real estate contractual requirements to estimate project scope, schedule, and cost.
- Prepare and present project information to the executive building committee for approval.
- Review civil, architectural, MEP, photometric, and fuel design plans and provide value‑engineering feedback.
- Assist during design and permitting, attending milestone events to ensure alignment with contractual and design expectations, MUSA prototypes, and standards.
- Manage the MUSA bid process for assigned projects: send projects to bid, manage bid calls, review bids, and award projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality during pre‑construction and construction activities.
- Oversee all facets of construction contracts, including project bid/award, scheduling, change order process, and project close‑out for all bid and assigned projects.
To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and ExperienceBroad knowledge in fields such as engineering, architecture, construction management, accounting, marketing, business administration, or finance. Equivalent to a four‑year college degree plus five years of related experience and/or training, and two years of related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
