Amer Cable, an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer of jacketed electrical power, control and instrumentation cables, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Machinist to join our Maintenance Team. The role focuses on machine maintenance, tooling repair, and support of capital projects.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the required dimensions and tolerances of machined parts.
• Collaborate closely with machine repair teams to optimize the efficient production of essential machined parts, utilizing manual machining tools for timely machine repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on manual machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Maintain an organized and up‑to‑date inventory of specially machined parts essential for machine repair.
• Perform tip and die repair of production tooling as needed.
• Install and support capital projects as deemed necessary.
• Support other Plant Engineering department activities.
• Adhere to all Amer Cable Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices.
• Follow Amer Cable’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Formal training or apprenticeship in machining.
• Proven experience operating manual machine tools in a manufacturing or machining environment.
• Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and ARC welding.
• State boiler license (or ability to obtain).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good reading comprehension.
• Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in non‑climate controlled environments.
• Required to work at heights above ground level.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Capability to physically move material, possibly up to 50 lbs.
