008 PRN LPN role at South Arkansas Regional Hospital
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care consistent with the goals and philosophy of South Arkansas Regional Hospital and with standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas. LPNs assist physicians or providers with direct patient care tailored to the age and developmental needs of patients.
Qualifications/ExperienceEducation: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Experience: One year of direct patient care experience preferred.
Licenses/CertificatesCurrent licensure to practice as an LPN in Arkansas (including multistate licensure).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required (may be obtained within 3 months of hire).

- Demonstrate knowledge of normal physical assessment findings and address abnormal findings appropriately.
- Communicate effectively to provide patient care directives and interpret responses to treatment.
- Recognize suspected abuse or neglect and report suspicions.
- Administer medications and immunizations competently and safely.
- Identify and implement safety precautions to prevent patient injuries.
- Meet departmental standards and competencies, documented accordingly.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Attend departmental meetings and educational sessions.
- Report safety concerns and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
- Follow infection control protocols and standard precautions.
- Provide compassionate, respectful care as directed by providers.
