As Canfor Southern Pine’s Manager, Market Development – Engineered Wood Products (EWP), you’re the catalyst for market expansion and brand recognition.

As the Manager, Market Development – EWP
, you’ll collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and production teams, leveraging your expertise to develop and execute sales strategies across multiple market segments. You’ll be at the forefront of building relationships with customers, specifiers, and distribution partners, driving demand for Canfor’s Power Products® branded EWP lines.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and reports directly to the General Manager, EWP Sales. To support Canfor Southern Pine, travel throughout the US is required up to 50% for trade shows, conferences, and customer engagement.

The life of the Manager, Market Development – EWP includes:
  • Developing and executing sales plans to expand Canfor’s presence in commercial, industrial, and mass timber market segments.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and regional distribution partners.
  • Driving pull-through demand for Power Products® through specification and education of industry stakeholders.
  • Analyzing market trends, identifying new distribution opportunities, and supporting regional partners to grow market share and profitability.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to deliver superior product solutions and secure key accounts.
  • Monitoring market pricing, competitive intel, and order trends to ensure strategic positioning and supply-demand balance.
  • Participating in trade events, plant tours, and marketing initiatives to build brand recognition and support market entry.
  • Setting objectives, implementing strategies, and developing action plans to improve long-term sales and margin growth.
  • Providing quotes, managing distributor effectiveness, and supporting the development of marketing tools and support services.
For this role, come equipped with:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineered wood products industry.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience.
  • Knowledge of building construction, residential, non-residential, and commercial sectors (commercial construction experience preferred).
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Practical computer skills, including Microsoft Office products; EWP design software knowledge is a plus.
