Service Mechanic - Field Based

Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is looking for a Service Mechanic in the field. With a full‑service equipment company since 1956.

Service Mechanic functions as part of the Service Team responsible for care of various types of customer and company‑owned equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment at various customer locations to bring each unit back to operational and safety standards.
• Effectively communicate with all involved parties, including Salespeople, Coordinators, Managers, and Customers, about possible downtime and job progress updates.
• Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision to decrease equipment downtime while also maintaining safe working standards both on‑site and during operation of company vehicles.

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical training/education, and/or experience in a related field
• Possessing or ability to obtain a complete line of tools, including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer site
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Above average communication skills
• Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
• Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Will be working in operating facilities and outdoors, traveling to customer locations. Varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• Frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• Requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
• Requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting and handling/fingering on a daily basis.
• Requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locations.
• Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
• Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
