Machinist Craftsman​/Apprentice

Basic Function

We have one (1) vacancy in the Machinist Apprentice classification. The vacancies will be filled based upon plant seniority and qualifications of those submitting applications. Successful completion of a formal program in the field of millwright, pump mechanic, machinist or other relevant skills through military service, a crafts apprenticeship program or VoTech school. Significant relevant experience can be considered as an acceptable alternate.

High School diploma or GED. Successful completion of a formal program in the field of millwright, pump mechanic, machinist or other relevant skills through military service, a crafts apprenticeship program or VoTech school. Significant relevant experience can be considered as an acceptable alternate.

Working beyond regular working hours as necessary. Responding favorably to call outs at night or on weekends. Extended 12-hour shift schedules, etc.

Outdoors environment based. Petroleum refinery, plant environment, including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, and tanks, rotating equipment, and working in confined spaces. Able to work in adverse weather conditions. Must be available to work a flexible schedule (e.g. overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts).

Job conditions may require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs, climbing over 100ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state drivers license and proof of insurance required, wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted) and strenuous physical activity.
