SUMMARY: A machinist III is a person capable of setting up and running their machine without guidance for the majority of VACCO parts. They are able to perform these setups without the need for setup parts. They can fully read their blueprints and specs and will perform full first part inspections without the need of supervision. They can adjust the feed / speed of the machine as needed to assure that the parts being made are per all requirements.
They know how to select appropriate tools and fixtures and have some capability of grinding / modifying some of their own tools when needed. This person may on rare occasion require a machinist IV to help them if they are asked to machine extremely difficult parts.
