Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for supporting the collections and cash application process by generating invoices, posting customer payments, maintaining accurate account records, and assisting with customer account inquiries. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely collections and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

+ Generate and distribute customer invoices and statements.

+ Post and apply customer payments received by check, ACH, wire, and credit card.

+ Assist with monitoring accounts receivable aging reports.

+ Follow up on outstanding invoices and past-due accounts.

+ Research and resolve customer billing discrepancies and payment issues.

+ Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate records.

+ Process credits, adjustments, and account updates as needed.

+ Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.

+ Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.

+ Maintain organized customer files and supporting documentation.

+ Prepare reports related to collections, cash receipts, and customer balances.

+ Support accounting and finance teams with various administrative and reporting tasks.

Requirements

Experience applying payments and reconciling customer accounts.

Exposure to billing, collections, and cash application processes.

Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage.

Ability to analyze account discrepancies and recommend solutions.
