Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform a wide variety of general clerical tasks and functions, including greeting personnel, preparing documents, data entry, computer assistance, supplies management, mail handling, and occasional supervisory duties.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist city personnel, officials, and the public in person and over the telephone.
  • Prepare and edit specialized documents and correspondence for review.
  • Review and enter sensitive or complex data, maintain records, databases, and record-keeping sources; generate reports.
  • Provide computer assistance and training to office personnel.
  • Perform related clerical activities such as inventory management, meeting coordination, payroll documents, and petty cash handling.
  • Receive, review, and sort mail, interoffice correspondence, and packages.
  • May supervise assigned small staff, including scheduling, training, performance appraisal, interviews, and hiring decisions.
Qualifications

MOS Codes: 3F511 (Air Force), 42L (Army), PERS (Coast Guard), 001815 (Navy).

Education and Experience:

A High School diploma or GED, or higher, and two (2) years office support experience.

Licenses and Certificates:
Some positions may require a Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.

Typing speed:
Minimum 35 words per minute.
