Summary
Job Description:
The Facilities Project Manager provides management oversight for all phases of hospital construction projects, including budget and schedule development, schematic design, design development, construction and space occupation. Ensures all codes and specifications are being met, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Acts as liaison between the construction team and the department staff. Responsible for maintaining effective communication as necessary, defined by the nature and scope of the project.
Minimum Job Requirements
Work Experience:
Five years of experience in construction management, buildings, utilities, and equipment required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
License/Registration/Certification:
None.
Education and Training:
A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration or in a related field is required.
Skills:
Extensive knowledge of construction, installation and operational testing.Considerable knowledge of materials, tools and techniques used in construction.Extensive knowledge of hazards and safety precautions.Extensive knowledge of project planning software, such as Microsoft Project.Knowledgeable of Life Safety code, NFPA, ADA and Joint Commission requirements and specifications.Ability to understand and use schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, blueprints and specifications.Ability to confer with staff, vendors or contractors to determine specific equipment or system requirements and other specifications.General knowledge of Computer Aided Design software, such as AutoCAD 2017.Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Problem-solving/decision-making skills.Ability to set priorities and achieve objectives.
