Safety Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and support our company’s safety program for civil construction operations. This position will work closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to maintain safe jobsites and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil, utility, earthwork, or infrastructure construction
• Degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards
• OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively with both field personnel and management
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local project sites

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company’s safety program
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits
• Identify unsafe conditions and work with field supervision to implement corrective actions
• Conduct safety orientations, training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and property damage
• Maintain OSHA records and required safety documentation
• Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and project-specific safety planning
• Monitor PPE, excavation/trenching, confined space, fall protection, equipment, traffic control, and other construction safety requirements
• Maintain employee safety training and certification records
• Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to address safety concerns
• Promote a practical, proactive safety culture throughout the company
