Film & Creative Industries Commissioner

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Film & Creative Industries Commissioner serves as the chief strategist and advocate for the Greater El Paso region’s film, media, music, and creative industries. This role leads the El Paso Film & Creative Industries Commission, a
** Texas-certified Film Friendly Community**, and is responsible for positioning El Paso as a competitive, production-ready destination for motion pictures, television (including series, specials, and movies), commercials, documentaries, still photography, music videos, and industrial, corporate, and military  addition to production attraction and services, the Commissioner is responsible for workforce development, industry relations, brand visibility, and the design and advocacy of incentive frameworks that align with state programs, regional capacity, and fiscal realities.

The role also produces and leads an annual Film & Creative Industries Workshop featuring accomplished panelists from across film and related disciplines, serving as a flagship convening for education, industry credibility, and regional brand-building.

Maintain and expand a comprehensive regional location’s library; conduct and host professional location scouts.

Coordinate with city, county, and partner agencies to facilitate permits, access, and filming requirements.

Position the workshop as a flagship convening for education, workforce development, and national visibility.

Advanced computer skills and adaptability to emerging media technologies.
