Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric and general eye examinations, including visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular health.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions and diseases.
• Prescribe corrective lenses, therapeutic interventions, or medications as needed.
• Educate patients and parents about eye health, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and opticians to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in optometry practices and technology.

Skills & Qualities

• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with medical coding.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program.
• Valid state license to practice optometry (Texas license or eligibility).
• Pediatric residency or prior pediatric experience (preferred, but not required).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
