The Technical Training Consultant is responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of learning & development technical and/or trade‑related training and services, including coordination and facilitation of technical and/or trade‑related classes, design and development of curriculum, jobsite audits, and on‑site coaching.
Key responsibilities include coordinating training, developing curriculum, conducting coaching, building relationships, supporting apprenticeship coordination, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Completion of an apprenticeship program, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree. - Experience:
Strong technical background; 5 years related experience in electrical, specialty systems, or related trades; 1‑ to 2‑year facilitation experience. - Travel:
Up to 25%. - Work Schedule:
Typical hours are 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday; may be required any time to meet business needs. - Computer Proficiency:
Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office; operation of audiovisual equipment. - Knowledge:
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within electrical and/or specialty systems contractor field. - Other:
Knowledge of adult educational principles preferred; confidentiality essential.
- Effectively facilitates electrical apprenticeship, Quick Start, and trade‑related training classes.
- Collaborates with the Apprenticeship Team to research, recommend, develop, pilot, and implement new training programs.
- Designs and develops technical and/or trade‑related curriculum based on organizational needs.
- Conducts jobsite or on‑site coaching and development related to audits or new work.
- Builds relationships with operational leaders to facilitate open dialogue and trust.
- Supports and provides guidance to the Apprenticeship Coordinator for program coordination.
- Works with L&D team and subject‑matter experts to continuously improve content, activities, and delivery.
- Continually increases knowledge of L&D craft.
- Actively participates in professional and trade‑related organizations.
- Demonstrates acceptance of company culture, professional standards, and willingness to model these standards.
- Displays approachability and ability to collaborate and influence effectively.
Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.
