Position Information

Hiring Department: Office of Admissions and Recruitment

Posting End Date: Open until filled. This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday‑Friday 8:00am‑5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends.

FLSA status: Exempt.

Salary: $35,568.00 annually.

Purpose of Position

Advises and recruits prospective students. Provides professional level knowledge, advice, and counseling to students and prospective students regarding the institutional student admissions process. Responsible for advising prospective students, parents, educational administrators and other interested persons regarding admissions requirements, policies and procedures. Travels frequently to high schools, colleges and other learning institutions to publicize and explain the University’s admissions, housing, and financial aid process to students and parents.

Distributes promotional media to recruit students. Processes and reviews admissions applications and packets for prospective domestic and international students. Generates letters of admission and/or rejection to students.

Essential Functions
  • Interviews students, parents and others concerning institutional entrance requirements.
  • Organizes, conducts and participates in receptions, college fairs and other special programs for prospective students and their parents.
  • Composes correspondence to answer admission inquiries.
  • Serves as liaison to several university departments or administrative areas.
  • Maintains and enters admission information into database.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff and other community members.
  • Tracks and reports statistical data.
  • Replies to phone calls, correspondence, and e‑mail from prospective students and their family members.
  • Conducts campus tours for students, parents, and other community members.
  • Acts as liaison between prospective student and specific programs, IT, and office personnel.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
  • Complies with all State and University policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience: One year of experience related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Note: This position requires a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
