The M/E Engineer 2 will complete routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, helping to develop estimates and helping to generate systems and bid analysis. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

• Learn and participate in the company’s safety and quality plans and culture, supporting an injury-free environment.
• Complete entry level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities.
• Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating system.
• Assist in review of mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and complete systems analysis for select projects.
• Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work used to coordinate during the bid process.
• Assist in bid analysis and provide input during subcontractor selection.
• Develop sequencing requirements of various systems to meet schedule requirements.
• Review design documents to identify potential quality issues for constructability review reports.
• Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and quality expectations are met.
• Assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
• Assist with commissioning, including developing pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.

• Helps generate, issue and execute the Commissioning Plan for assigned projects.
• Interacts independently with project teams regarding deliverables; represents JE Dunn professionally.
• Reviews compliance shop drawings and submittals from subcontractors prior to design team submission.
• Leads the mechanical/electrical coordination process and participates in all construction phases from startup to closeout.
• Develops schedules for mechanical/electrical systems and performs site inspections with reporting.
• Creates constructability reviews and participates in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
• Develops sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet the schedule; reviews design documents for quality issues.
• Participates in shop drawing/submittal process and commissioning activities.

• Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (Intermediate).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with JE Dunn M/E tools and software.
• Knowledge of construction management means/methods.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required).
• Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.

• 2+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Required).
