Sr VDC Coordinator at Jacobs

We are looking for a seasoned professional to design and lead wireless telecommunications systems for data center buildings. This on‑site role is located at our Baton Rouge, LA site, but the position is open to candidates throughout the United States.

• Design wireless systems in iBwave and EDX
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages
• Engage with AHJ’s, Radio System Owners, and carriers for approvals
• Create or modify DIV 27 specifications
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 5 years’ experience designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, etc.)
• Experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent modeling tools
• Working knowledge of noise floor, SNIR, return loss, VSWR, NFPA 72/1221/1225, IFC 510, carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC parts 20 & 90, OET bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO, Motorola R56, DMR Tier III
• Familiarity with Navisworks, RFP responses, budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation
• Excellent project management skills and self‑motivation to collaborate across disciplines
• iBwave Level 2 Certification required

• Designing Wi‑Fi systems
• EDX or Motorola design certifications
• FCC GROL, NICET Design Certification, multiple OEM product certifications
• Electrical or Communications Engineering degree, EIT or PE
