CDM Smith is hiring an entry‑level Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Team in El Paso. Under direct supervision, you will create basic‑complexity engineering designs involving site layout development, site grading and drainage, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment, and occasionally single‑story structures. You will review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.

You will perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications, update design requirements as necessary, and contribute to the firm’s technical knowledge base by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. You will submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals and perform other duties as required.

You may create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years of experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Basic knowledge of computer‑assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
