PositionAssociate Field Service Engineer – Energy Storage Systems
Remote, Home‑based – Candidates must live within 30 minutes to 1 hour of the city posted to allow for frequent visits to client sites for service support.
Job Responsibilities- Ensure SLA performance requirements such as response time and uptime guarantee are met with all external and internal resources.
- Maintain and control field cost, efficiency, speed and quality; review third‑party proposals and approve based on authority level.
- Manage field inventory levels for spare parts and collaborate with the Operations Manager on inventory control and flow for new requirements and critical spare parts.
- Run field audits on service partners and O&M teams, document audits, and provide feedback to partners.
- Develop cross‑functional relationships within CLOU to support customers, including visiting customers, providing training and presentations.
- Lead and perform field service activities such as commissioning, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and warranty work.
- Establish field procedures, manage and update documentation.
- Train field service technicians and partners.
- Lead safety initiatives in the field and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Provide field‑service reports to customers for failures and coordinate with HQ service regarding high‑level reports.
- Track failure rates and field dispatches; meet with operation managers to understand serial defect requirements for each site and proactively address them.
- Work with customer SCADA/EMS engineers to ensure system communication functions properly.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, logistics, finance, and program management to maintain solar plants.
- Ensure field reports are submitted to customers and management in a timely manner.
- Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
- 2+ years of overall experience in field service.
- 1–2 years of experience in solar, inverter, ESS.
- Ability to use test equipment and hand tools as required.
- Customer‑service, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA
70A, Electrical Safety. - Fluent in Mandarin.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education (not required).
- Experience in solar/BESS industry is desired.
- Strong initiative, excellent communication, and a service‑oriented mindset.
