Our client is a national leader in NETA testing, commissioning, and staff augmentation for the mission-critical industry.
They need a strong Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a data center project in Reno, NV. You'll make sure mission-critical electrical systems are installed, tested, and working as designed. The work runs the full project lifecycle, from design review and factory witness testing to IST and turnover.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Testing & Validation: Run Level 1–5 commissioning on critical power systems: UPS, MV/LV switch gear, generators, ATS/STS, and PDUs.
- Documentation: Build and review commissioning plans, Functional Performance Tests (FPTs), and Integrated Systems Test (IST) scripts.
- Troubleshooting: Find, document, and resolve complex electrical faults and design issues during startup.
- Design Review: Review one-lines, schematics, and submittals against the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR).
- Safety: Hold the line on NFPA 70E and LOTO on site. Every day, no exceptions.
- Coordination: Serve as the technical link between the owner, contractors, and vendors to keep milestones on track.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military training (Navy Nuclear and similar programs welcome).
- 5–10 years of commissioning experience. Data centers, semiconductor fabs, or other high-reliability facilities strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of NETA testing standards and ASHRAE commissioning guidelines.
- Experience with commissioning software (CxAlloy, Bluebeam, Procore) and power monitoring systems (EPMS/SCADA).
