The Cash Processing Associate reports to the Manager of Cash Management. Responsible for the daily applications of cash processing and reconciliation of payments to the accounts receivable (AR). Maintains a high level of customer service through the processing of payments at the cashiers window as well as through hospital mail. Responsible for the processing of daily departmental cash deposits through proper accountability, accurate recoding payment in system and safekeeping of monetary amounts.

Required Skills:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability.
- Ability to compute mathematical calculations to complete required analyses and reports.
- Ability to effectively use a personal computer and working knowledge of spreadsheet application to perform data entry and analysis (must be proficient in Excel and Word).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong knowledge of cash posting principles and procedures.
- Ability to balance account payments and adjustments against remittance advice.
- Knowledge of third party reimbursement processes and current insurance terminology.
- Ability to effectively communicate accounting information policies and or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.
- Preferred experience working within Soarian
TM. - Interpersonal skills needed to explain accounts to employees and managers.
- Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with internal/external customers in various circumstances.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting in order to maximize quality and efficiently of operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to establish and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
Required Experience:
Work Experience:
One year of experience handling cash or working as a cashier required. Excellent customer service experience required preferably in a healthcare setting.

Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
