Summary
Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist II functions independently and consistently in the delivery of quality care to occupational therapy patients in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, department policies and procedures, and standards of practice. Evaluates patients, plans and implements treatment programs, and documents all treatment accurately. Works in conjunction with other members of the health care team to ensure patient needs are met.
Educates patients and families. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age-related needs.
Skills
1. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and procedures.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Good problem-solving ability to determine best methods to address patient problems.
Work Experience
Two years of Occupational Therapy experience is required.
License/Registration/Certification:
Current license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas is required.
Current CPR is required.
Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent education if trained outside of the U.S. is required.
Completion of appropriate Clinical Instructor (CI) course; or completed within one year of hire.
