This position is responsible for all material related processes associated with moving materials efficiently to the production floor from staging or storage and then moving finished goods out of the production area. The individual must be able to communicate with several different functions within the facility and also possess strong organization skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. This position will lead quality, delivery, productivity and simplification activities.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
1-2 years inventory management, or material handling experience.
Travel: 0-10% based on company need
Work Schedule:
This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.
- Lead, schedule, and support a team of material handlers, ensuring daily tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
- Provide hands‑on guidance and coaching to ensure adherence to material handling procedures and performance expectations.
- Monitor team productivity and support employee development through training and feedback.
- Coordinate the movement and staging of materials to support production schedules and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Ensure accuracy in material transactions, including receiving, put‑away, replenishment, and kitting activities.
- Resolve material flow or inventory discrepancies in real‑time to minimize production disruption.
- Collaborate with production, planning, logistics, and quality teams to support operational goals and ensure material readiness.
- Communicate material status updates and issues clearly and promptly to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to streamline material handling processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives within the materials department.
- Enforce safety procedures and regulatory compliance within material handling areas.
- Conduct equipment and process audits; assist in implementing corrective actions where needed.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and team performance metrics.
- Support root cause analysis and reporting on material‑related issues and delays.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new materials team members.
- Perform other related duties as required in support of team and business needs.
