Registered Charge Nurse Telemetry Full Time Days Weekender
The charge nurse provides guidance and support to staff, maintains a safe environment, ensures patient throughput, delegates assignments, and supervises support staff in accordance with training and patient acuity. Works with medical providers to ensure quality of patient care. Also provides direct clinical patient care, assessing, planning, implementing care for assigned patients on a per-shift basis, and supervising staff to ensure appropriate care is delivered.
Reports to the appropriate clinical leader with oversight by the CNO to ensure high quality, safe nursing care, staff competency, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
The charge nurse oversees patient admissions, transfers and discharges, mentors and trains new staff, liaises with doctors and administrators, and communicates protocol changes to staff. Maintains compliance with health and safety regulations and keeps accurate reports. Administers medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Responsible for hospital emergency codes and related procedures.

- Collaborate with physicians and health care teams to ensure quality patient care and adherence to policies.
- Monitor charts, provide compassionate care to patients and families, and communicate protocol changes to staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Perform all HICS responsibilities as directed during emergencies and disasters; know and apply hospital emergency codes.
- Education:
Required - Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Preferred - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing. - Experience:
Required - 1 year of RN experience. - Certifications:
Required - Currently licensed to practice as required by law; BLS. If applicable by policy, ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
