Position located at El Paso Center for Gastro & Endo, El Paso, Texas. The center has 5 operating rooms and 1 treatment room. The endoscopic procedure schedule covers a variety of specialties:
General, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastics, Podiatry, and Urology.

The role is weekdays only. Early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on surgical flow.

Job Summary

The Endoscopy Technician assists the endoscopy team during procedures, arranges and inventories sterile set‑up, passes items as needed, assists in patient preparation and movement, and cleans the endoscopy room. The technician provides centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment, stores articles and supplies, and maintains and tracks inventory per facility procedures. The position reports to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act and facility policies.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice to care for patients.
  • Perform routine nursing care using age‑specific and universal precaution practices, monitor patient progress, and act on status changes to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patients, providing complete and thorough reports on patient status throughout the procedure.
  • Communicate with staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Seek educational tools to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Infection Control Committee to prevent and identify potential infections.
  • Support and demonstrate continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 2+ years’ experience in an established endoscopy center.
  • Working knowledge of standard gastroenterology procedures.
