The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, delegates and coordinates treatment plans and the plan of care.

• Minimum Education:
  
  Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.
• Licensure:
  Current RN licensure in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current NRP certification required within 6 months of hire date.
• Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required within 6 months of hire date.
• Experience with NICU or Nursery preferred.
• Skills:
  
  Basic English reading and writing for physician orders, knowledge of body substance isolation, ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient/family needs, bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
