Retail Store Management Trainee
$13.00 to $22.40 per hour
This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.
Our retail sales associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $2.11 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. This role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
Alongside the Store Manager, this role analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met. You will commit to the company’s asset protection program, promote our business, and target new customer acquisitions. Employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
This role offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
ResponsibilitiesThis is a representative list of duties and is not all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing loans.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
- Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
- The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting) per legal requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
