Overview

Retail Store Management Trainee – This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast-tracking into a Store Management position. Minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required. Pay range: $13.00 to $22.40 per hour.

Earn potential:
Our retail sales associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.76 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations, leading and developing store employees, recruiting and retaining top talent, maximizing financial goals, and managing customer relations/satisfaction. This role sets the tone for a customer-centric environment and partners with the Store Manager to help achieve store performance targets.

Responsibilities include analyzing store financial statements to ensure goals are met, committing to asset protection, promoting the business, and targeting new customer acquisition. This position involves working with jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues promptly.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
  • Maintain asset protection through inventory control and proper procedures for loans and safety.
  • Administer store processes: inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
  • Communicate clearly with staff about store mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting) per applicable laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
