Retail Assistant Store Manager

$13.00 to $17.00 per hour. Employees can earn up to an additional 8% commission on transactions, which could average an additional $7.96 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/3rd key experience. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for the day‑to‑day operations of the store, promote a positive and productive environment, and partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction.

This position analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, commits to the company's asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions. Successful candidates will work with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.

The role offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay is based on location, qualifications, and experience.

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
• Monitor and assist in the training of pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, count cash drawers, inventory, merchandise, and ensure all procedures are followed for asset protection.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
• Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
• Communicate clearly with employees to ensure they understand the store’s mission and profit objectives.
• Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
• Ability to work with firearms and acquire firearms certification.
• May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Assist Store Managers will work 40+ hours a week; hours are not guaranteed.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
