We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Kitchen Suppression System Technician. The Technician will be responsible for inspecting, installing, and servicing kitchen fire suppression systems (hoods) from various manufacturers. The Technician will perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs and maintain complete and detailed inspection and repair documentation on all work performed. A desired candidate is reliable, thorough, detail-oriented, and self‑motivated.
Responsibilities- Read and understand assigned project documentation and work orders, including scope of work for inspections, determine if additional information is needed.
- Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with internal and external customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction experience.
- Troubleshoot several different fire suppression systems.
- Follow troubleshooting guidelines and refer to technical/parts manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to diagnose and repair equipment or systems.
- Partner with sales to grow and protect the service segment of our business.
- Maintain accurate truck inventory to ensure timely response to customers’ needs.
- Review and explain all work performed to customers.
- Stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
- Attend and complete all required safety training.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day.
- Knowledge of NFPA code and non‑conformance issues.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiple times a day.
- Decent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision.
- Knowledge of fire systems and tools.
- Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- High School diploma/ GED.
- Ability to work flexible hours including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs.
- Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50‑70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- FEL‑K Certification.
- Two (2) years prior work experience.
- Knowledge working in Profit Zoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity.
- CSA Certification.
