Field Service Class A Technician or Journeyman Technician – works with minimal direct supervision diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment at customer sites.

$36.50–$52.60 per hour (dependent on education and experience).

• Maintain truck and crane inspection logs daily
• Complete CAT service reports daily – legible, proper grammar, correct SIMS code
• Transmit photos, timecards, service reports, and other information via e‑mail
• Maintain customer job records and credit card receipts for accounting
• Collaborate with Service, Product Support, and Sales departments to meet all customer needs
• Communicate with customers about diagnosis, repair status, parts, and concerns
• Teach and coach other field technicians
• Promote Wagner Equipment Co. to customers
• Accurately troubleshoot and repair CAT equipment on the first attempt
• Read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Safely rig or hook components for lifting
• Remove, repair, and install major components in various equipment configurations
• Maintain tooling in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations
• Make field determinations on warranty repairs and guidelines, communicating decisions to customer and dispatcher
• Maintain service vehicle in safe and good repair
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager

• High School Diploma or GED
• Relevant CAT‑related courses
• 5+ years servicing heavy equipment
• 1+ year administrative/clerical experience
• 3+ years customer service experience
• 3+ years sales experience

• DOT Health Card
• Class A Driver’s License
• MSHA License
• Pass all required pre‑employment screenings (background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit‑for‑duty testing, and other job‑related tests)

• Standing, walking, talking, sitting, hand use & hearing
• Data entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
• Safety & product knowledge
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.
• Lifting/moving objects up to 100 pounds or more
• Intermediate knowledge of DBS
• Intermediate knowledge of ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW
• Work independently with little or no direction
• Well‑rounded knowledge of CAT equipment
