Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electronics Installation Technician to join our team! In this role you will get to perform installation of navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields across the United States National Air Space (NAS).

This position is 100 percent travel throughout the USA. All travel expenses are paid. Full benefits offered.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA Next Gen Program, national security programs and aviation safety.

Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire / life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories.

An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

This position works as part of a construction and installation crew installing new or upgrading existing equipment and systems such as navigational aids, air traffic communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment.

The Installation Technician completes projects on airports and at remote facilities in various environments.

Work will involve electronics systems installation, civil construction tasks, and electrical equipment installation tasks.

Assists with site preparation work at ATCT, remote telecommunication sites, Enroute Centers and Terminal TRACONs.

Assists with Fiber Optics Terminal System (FOTS) installation at various sites throughout the USA.

Assists with electronics installations, integration and testing, electrical power panels; conduit; cableways; control cables; duct banks; AC power panels; racks for various FAA systems.

Removes and repairs or replaces components, wires, wire bundles, terminal blocks, and / or connectors.

Does other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

5 plus years of experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installation of Fiber Optics, other Radio Control Systems (RCE) and other complex electronics equipment.

Candidate must have extensive experience with above and below ground electrical installations, duct banks, manholes, steel racks, towers and poles, surveying, concrete work, excavation equipment operations, and airfield systems.

Candidate must be familiar with construction quality and safety best practices.

Candidate must be able to read, interpret, and implement project drawings, specifications, and client orders and standards.

Candidates should have experience with the use of basic electrical and electronics test equipment.

100% travel is required throughout the United States, its territories and possessions, and anywhere federally owned and operated air traffic equipment is operated.

Must pass detailed DOT background check to qualify.

High school diploma required. College, trade school, or professional certification(s) is preferred.

Advanced electronics training from institutions such as junior college, military service, or trade school training.

Maintains repairs, troubleshooting, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment.

Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment operation.

Terrific customer service skills - a history of working directly with customers and site owners.

Computer skills - experience working with Microsoft Office for daily and weekly reporting.
