Overview
Delivery Driver
Responsibilities- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product to customers in designated delivery areas, including handling delivery routes and navigating to addresses within the delivery zone.
- Follow orientation and on‑the‑job training as provided.
- Communicate effectively with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Maintain accuracy in monetary transactions and change making.
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
- Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings and private homes.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Must be able to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
- Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Exposures and environmental conditions may include varying and sometimes adverse weather when delivering product. In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some areas. Exposure to food odors and cornmeal dust. Cramped walk-in cooler spaces. Hot surfaces up to 500 degrees or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts. Deliveries may involve driving in varying conditions.
Sensing- Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Far and night vision for driving.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, interact with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Requirements- Standing:
Most tasks are performed from a standing position; work surfaces 36–48 inches high. - Walking:
Short distances as needed; delivery personnel travel between the store, delivery vehicle, and customer location. - Sitting:
Office paperwork at a desk or table. - Lifting/Carrying:
Deliveries may require handling cases up to 50 pounds; pizzas, dough, and ingredients carried as part of duties; trays and other items carried over short distances. - Pushing/Pulling:
Move trays on dollies; force required may vary. - Climbing:
Occasional stairs or ladders for signs and maintenance; deliveries may involve stairs.
Job Duties
Deliver products by car to customer doors; deliver flyers and door hangers as required.
