• Completion of 10th grade or higher.
• One (1) year of public contact or customer service experience or one (1) year operating medium commercial vehicles, passenger buses or streetcars.
• Twenty‑one (21) years of age with a safe driving record, passing a background investigation, and successfully completing periodic physical examinations as required by federal transportation regulations.
• Valid Class "C" Driver License or equivalent from another state by the time of application.

Under immediate supervision, attend and complete classroom and field training in operating passenger coaches and streetcars in a safe, courteous and timely manner.

• Training includes passenger coach and streetcar functions, operations and maintenance, departmental requirements, policies and procedures, traffic laws, two‑way radio operation, established routes and schedules, defensive driving, safety and emergency practices, public relations and customer service skills, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) requirements and rail certification requirements.

Course start:
March 2026. The assignment is a 9‑week training class; upon successful completion, the position will become a regular classified role.
