The Warehouse Lead oversees daily warehouse operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety. This role coordinates the work of warehouse associates, manages inventory movement, and supports the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager in planning, training, and process improvement. The Warehouse Lead plays a key role in maintaining productivity, quality performance, and a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support warehouse associates in daily tasks including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Assign work tasks, monitor completion, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Assist in training new employees on equipment usage, policies, and best practices.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper documentation.
- Operate material‑handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks (if certified).
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Identify workflow issues and collaborate with management to improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate with other departments (Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, etc.) regarding order status or inventory needs.
- Prepare daily reports and metrics as required by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or leadership training preferred.
- 2+ years of warehouse experience; 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (Excel, emails, scanners).
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
