LPN-Rehab Nights

Overview

Mercy is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care under the supervision of personnel licensed to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The nurse maintains professional accountability for patient care, coordinates patient care with other departments, and preserves patient rights and confidentiality of information.

• Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision as described above.
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; comparable education, experience, and licensure may be considered.
• Licensure:
  Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications:
  
  Note that one or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position/unit or certification timeline:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire
• IV Certification within 1 year of hire
• Other unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
