Parts Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts
Join the O'Reilly Auto Parts team as a Parts Specialist to provide high‑level service to retail and installer customers and support store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates encouraged.
Essential Job Functions- Follow and promote all company customer service programs (Hi‑5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Promptly greet retail/walk‑in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists with serving professional customers as directed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent phone service: answer all calls per company policy, accurately look up parts and quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low‑Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer: accept cash and checks, accurately make change, and process credit‑card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns for cash credit in a friendly manner according to company policies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receipt, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
- Perform various daily operational tasks such as preparing merchandise returns for shipment, assisting with monthly stock adjustments, and inventory cycle counts.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training and approval.
- Perform in‑store services for customers where permitted by law (install wipers, test/charge batteries, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules, etc.).
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate (must meet driving eligibility requirements).
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
- Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
