Job Summary

We are seeking a licensed Medical Optometrist to join our growing, patient-centered team led by founder Jane Semel, M.D. This role emphasizes medical eye care and comprehensive eye exams to diagnose, manage, and treat ocular disease in collaboration with ophthalmologists and other medical professionals.

As a key member of our team, you will evaluate new and existing patients, conduct detailed assessments to identify visual and systemic health concerns, and develop care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about medical optometry, is up to date on the latest advancements in the field, and thrives in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed medical eye examinations for new and returning patients
  • Evaluate visual function and detect ocular and systemic health conditions
  • Diagnose and co-manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy
  • Prescribe and fit corrective lenses as needed
  • Collaborate closely with Dr. Jane Semel and the broader medical team to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Educate patients on findings, treatment options, and preventive eye care
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure to practice optometry
  • Experience or strong interest in medical optometry and ocular disease management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team-based environment
