Samson Rose has partnered with an industry leader in advanced manufacturing and robotics to find a Senior Additive Manufacturing (AM) Process Development Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on and technical role focused on optimizing laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) processes to achieve best-in-class material performance, consistency, and cost efficiency. You’ll lead initiatives to improve in-house printers, develop novel print parameters, and collaborate across design and manufacturing teams to enable next-generation aerospace and automotive hardware.

The person they are looking for should have:
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls (ITAR).

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing L-PBF equipment, process parameters, or print programming.

  • Strong understanding of materials engineering fundamentals (stress-strain, fatigue, microstructure, etc.).

  • Proven track record defining project scope, aligning stakeholders, and communicating technical progress.

  • Experience qualifying and controlling AM processes for repeatability and quality.

Big pluses for:
  • Hands-on experience operating or troubleshooting additive manufacturing equipment.

  • Aerospace AM design experience and ability to conduct manufacturing trade studies.

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter / NX for 3D modeling.

  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ for data analysis.

  • Demonstrated success optimizing parameters using DOE and statistical tools.

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
