Director, Materials Science

Cambium is seeking a Director, Materials Science to join our advanced materials team. You will be hands on leading our technology teams to develop cutting-edge advanced materials. You will work hand in hand with our Chief Technology Officer to map technology strategy and resourcing and ensure our technology efforts result in the development & qualification of revolutionary advanced material products.

• Collaborate closely with the CTO to define and execute the company’s technology strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
• Hands on leadership of technical teams developing advanced materials
• Assist the CTO to drive technology roadmap planning, budgeting, and performance measurement
• Support recruiting and development of technical talent fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Act as a key liaison between the technology department and executive leadership, presenting complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Represent Cambium’s technical vision to external stakeholders when needed

• Bachelors or higher in a relevant subject
• 8+ years industry experience
• Strong material science background
• A deep technical understanding of polymer composites & adhesives
• Must have experience in the developing and qualification of advanced materials in the aerospace industry
• You must have a strong desire to learn and be willing to work in a hands-on role
• Exceptional communication
• Demonstrated leadership of technical teams
• Due to the nature of the work, you must have US citizenship
• Be a great teammate
• This is an onsite role based in El Segundo, CA

Pay:$155,000 – 220,000 annually
