The Electromagnetic Interference Test Section (EMITS) provides test-based solutions to high-impact challenges in the domain of launch vehicle and spacecraft electromagnetic and radio frequency protection.
** Work Model**:

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.
** What You’ll Be Doing
*** Provide scientific and engineering support in the areas of electromagnetic environmental effects, electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) to the United States Space Force, National Reconnaissance Office, and civil space programs.
* Design, build, and perform laboratory and field experiments to ensure spacecraft and launch vehicles are protected from harmful electromagnetic environments.
* Gain hands-on experience performing electromagnetic and radio frequency testing using signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and antennas; develop test methods and analyze results.
* Occasionally travel to launch ranges, launch vehicle and satellite factories, and other sites to perform critical testing, troubleshooting, and mission assurance activities.
* Evaluate and improve spacecraft, launch vehicle, and infrastructure electromagnetic design and performance.
* Participate in a team of industry experts that focus on conceptual designs, requirement development, proposal evaluation, design evaluation and verification, launch operations, and anomaly root-cause and corrective action.
* Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed.
** What You Need to be Successful – Member of Technical Staff
**
* Minimum Requirements:

** BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline from an accredited university
* Two or more years of related technical experience
* Knowledge of applied electromagnetics, microwave engineering, radio frequency engineering, antenna theory, and/or calculus-based electromagnetism
* Project / academic experience with programming, data analysis, or computer control of test equipment
* This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
*** In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for
* * Senior Member of Technical Staff:
**** Five or more years of related technical experience
* Demonstrated leadership of EMI/EMC or radio frequency measurement and test activities
* Experience creating test procedures, test plans, and test reports
