Engineers in the GNC group are integral throughout the entire program lifecycle, providing mission and system design inputs, critical analysis products, software/algorithm development, support to satellite integration and test (I&T), and on-console support for on-orbit operations.

As a GNC REA at the Lead/Senior level, you will be the leader for the GNC subsystem for a given program/constellation. In addition to technical execution, it is critically important that engineers in this position are capable of management of a complex project, ensuring that high-quality work products are delivered on-time. • Manage the development of GNC products within the constraints of program cost and schedule

  • Report technical execution progress to program and company leadership, and track/mitigate risk

  • Interface with other satellite subsystems as well as systems engineering and program management to ensure system-level performance

  • Technical leadership of a team of GNC engineers in support of a program, including decomposition and delegation of tasks

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of industry experience

  • Strong GNC fundamentals and spacecraft system level knowledge

  • Ability to perform complex GNC system analyses of kinematics, dynamics, and control systems using existing and/or self-developed tools

  • Ability to decompose large/complex/nebulous tasks into clearly defined subsets of work that can be done personally or delegated to other members of the team

  • Ability to lead a small team of GNC engineers and collaborate with other subsystem engineers and program leadership

  • Ability to support activities (e.g. integration and test, mission operations) during off-nominal hours when required

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 10+ years industry experience with spacecraft GNC system design

  • Satellite I&T and on-orbit operations experience

  • Strong fundamentals of project management, including monitoring cost and schedule performance
